3 Victory Lessons: Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly

Over 1,000 Foo Fighters diehards gathered to perform the group's classic song, "Learn to Fly."  The musicians hoped that their efforts would compel the Foo Fighters to perform in the northern Italian city of Cesena.

Here are three victory lessons that we can learn from the Rockin 1000 event:

Planning
Fabio Zaffagnini is the man responsible for organizing the event.  It started with a crazy idea in a project that he named Rockin' 1000.  He turned an adventure that appeared impossible into reality through strategic planning.

"If you plan for one year, plant rice. If you plan for ten years, plant trees. If you plan for 100 years, educate mankind." -Chinese Proverb

If you fail to plan you plan to fail.  There is no way that you will accomplish what you desire without a plan.  Planning is only the initial step, sticking to the plan is the next vital factor.

Power in Numbers
Zaffagnini did not seek followers instead he knew the importance of recruiting fellow leaders.  Musicians are creative, talented individuals.  When you put enough of them together and you give them a platform to perform the outcome is certain to be amazing.  This would not have been possible with 100 talented musicians.

Your team cannot be made up of people who lack talent.  To achieve excellence you must collaborate with people that are more talented than you.  If you are part of a group of talented individuals, look to expand by recruiting additional creative minds that are motivated to succeed.

Results
The musicians were successful.  Today, Dave Grohl announced that the Foo Fighters are "coming."

Here is a translation of Grohl's response:

"Hello Cesena, I'm David and I am sorry that I can only speak a little Italian.  This video is really beautiful! Thank you so much.  We are coming, I promise.  See you soon! Thank you very much, love you, bye."

Denis Waitley states, "The results you achieve will be in direct proportion to the effort you apply." Are you seeking results by implementing positive actions? These Foo Fighters fans achieved their goal because they did not make excuses instead they decided what they wanted and took innovative actions to generate the results they desired.
